The Martian is about astronaut Mark Watney. He and his team embark on a mission to Mars. An unexpected storm hits the landing site. The team makes their way back to the getaway ship while Watney is left behind, presumed dead. The book is about Watney’s day to day life being stuck on Mars. You get to read about the struggles he’s forced to endure and whether or not he overcomes them. You also get a parallel view from the people back on Earth who are in charge of bringing Watney home.My favorite parts of the book are the scenes that take place on Earth. While Watney is struggling for everyday survival, the works at NASA are working day and night to figure out a solution to bring him home. If you love books about survival, or books with comedic characters this book is great. There’s also a lot of science and math terms used in the book. Watney is a positive character, usually, and is also very funny. The Martian is incredibly entertaining, with great characters and a dynamic plot.

The book I picked out is called Who Moved My Cheese by Spencer Johnson. It was publish by G.P Putnam’s Sons. Who Moved My Cheese helps you notice things in life and how not to let the something’s stop you. Each chapter it shows you really powerful quotes that he writes to help others. My favorite part of the book was when he wrote his quote “The Quicker You Let Go of the Old Cheese, The Sooner You Find New Cheese.” That quote helps me notice that sometimes you have to let go of things or memories because you can make new ones. I recommend the book Who Moved My Cheese because it’s a really good book and it will give a better way to look at life. Really good you should read it.
-Leslie G. The book I am reading is called “The Boys”, by Skip Bayless. This book is about the Dallas Cowboys. This is mainly about the history of the Cowboys. Its goes back to the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s. The book mainly talks about the organization of the Cowboys, the types of seasons the team had, big injuries the team took, or any major trades. The book is also about the teams successes and failures, and of course, its Superbowl wins and its outstanding 90’s run. My favorite part is when the book talks about the 90’s! I connect to this book because I play football and I have been through similar things myself and with my team. I recommend any Cowboys fans, any sports fans, or any football fans to read this book. You will love this book! To whoever reads this book, in hope you enjoy it!
