The book I have chosen to recommend is MONSTER, by Walter Dean Myers. I have chosen to recommend this book because I think it’s a great book from my point of view. The story is based on a real life story. It is about a boy whose name is Steve Harmon and is only 16 and is on trial for a murder and robbery. He is not thee only one who is accused there are other people involved to. He tells how everything went down and how he got caught up in the mess that he is in. He also talks about how he feels to be in jail and how it really is. He also talks about how they see him and how the people don’t believe he is innocent. But I think, once you read it you’ll be hooked. It keeps you wanting to read more to know what’s going to happen next and how the trial is going. It makes you feel like you’re there and you feel as you’re involved to like your apart of what happened. I think this book would be good for anyone to read because it is very interesting and you learn a lot. You learn that not everything in life is what you plan or goes how you want it to and you just have to hope for the best. I would also recommend this book to anyone who has been apart of that or has been through it with someone that has been in jail because they are falsely accused of something. But with that being said I hope that any of you who read this blog will check out the book and like it as much I did.

I just finished reading The Cather in the Rye, and it’s a book that would keep you hooked into. I recommend this book to you guys because am sure you can sort of relate it to you. We all been a difficult situation and try to escape it by doing things that don’t come to sense or are not really you, we often ignore it instead of solving it. The Cather in the Rye by J.D Salinder is a book in were a boy at age seventeen is in a stage were he is afraid to grow up. Within his eyes there’s no point of growing because one will grow up to be a phony and pretend to be someone there not to please others. Holden the main character though has many problems of his own and he ignores them and within his thoughts he thinks he acts mature when in reality his acting immature. Holden smokes and drinks Scotch to feel older and fulfill his confusions and worry into satisfaction to forget the trouble he is in. Holden was kicked out of one of the most well known best schools Pencey high and doesn’t seem to have any path for a better future. He seems to have so much hate towards everyone and to him he is the only reasonable person who doesn’t act upon others actions. Everyone to him is a phony and stupid, movies are just what makes others act fake. But throughout this hate he has towards everyone he’s a boy who different from must people these days cause he cares about the things that aren’t so valuable in life cause to him they bring more pure happiness. He has so much love for little kids because they are innocent and have yet not seen everyone’s false actions so he feels in there to take care of them. Though her little sister is the one who brings rational thoughts to him when he realizes he is setting a bad role model for her.

She moves to san fransico to get away and while shes there she get introduced to new drugs. She eventually returns home to end up leaving again. She got started on drugs because she fell in love with a boy who was already in college. He fed her a bs story on how his father was dying and how he couldnt work because of school and thats why he did drugs and sold them. Since alice fell in love with him she volunteered to start selling drugs in school for him. She was bringing in a lot of money till she found out that her so called boyfriend was gay. Her and her friend walked in when he and his roomate were getting intimate with eachother. She dumped him and ended up telling the cops about him. Annie is still in middle school and she meets this new guy that’s a year or two older than her. When she starts dating him he starts to control her life. She never wanted to see reality and would think that she did something wrong. Then when she lets him know that she’s pregnant his doesn’t wants to be responsible for his baby. At first she feels confused and doesn’t know what to do. One of the girls from his friends tells her that she should abort just like she did. She decides to tell her mom and her mom helps her out. -Angelica Maldonado By one of my friends recomendation, she had encouraged me to read Kiki Strike: Inside the Shadow City by Kirsten Miller. Looking at the cover of the book, I was unconvinced. In order for me to really engage in reading, the cover has to appeal to me as well as the story...That's what I used to think. "Don't judge a book by it's cover" are definitely the words I live by now. "Kiki Strike: Inside the Shadow City" is definitely something different from what you have read. The book is a mix between super adventure and amazing mystery. The book deals with the protagonist, Ananka Fishbien, who encounters a mysterious girl, Kiki Strike and an underground city in NYC. The novel continues to unravel quests between Ananka, Kiki and 5 creepy but talented girl scouts and their adventurs in The Shadow City. Put your love and romantic novels aside and check out the new hit with small but powerful girls.
-Patricia Pavon The MARKED, a house of night novel series by p.c cast may be a chick series as guys would say, but i'd recomend it to anyone because its about a teenagers everyday life not realistic but interesting, especially if your into vampire books. Its not a typical vampire book though it deals with of course love, but these vampryes as they call them in the book have to go live at the house of night as soon as there marked otherwise they die, they all have to go through a change before they actually become full vampryes too. the main character in the story is zoey red bird who happens to become the only fleding in history to have the gift of all the five elements. with this gift also comes great responsibilities which is always getting her into some kind of trouble.one of her biggest challenges through this series is when she gets caught in a disasterous love triangle which pretty much ruins her, and when she knows shes destined to die but has to keep herself alive to stop a war between vampryes and humans from happening. This series i guarantee is very intriguing.
-Vanessa Sanchez I have a read the book Companions Of The Night by Vivian Vande Velde. It is such a great book!. It has so many twists and its leaves you in suspense, This book is about seventeen year old kerry nowicki who by destiny happens to run into a whole lot of trouble with a mysterious charming yound man who she happens to meet at...out of all places.. the laundry mart! these two get to know each other and kerry discovers more about this mysterious young man, not to mention that she discovers that her charming companion is a vampire! You definately have to check this book out to find out what else happens. I assure you that once you open this book you will not want to put it down.
-Nancy Giron The book I read for this grading period was Doing It by Melvin Burgess. Throughout this book it spoke about the relationships some teenagers had through their high school year. It showed how the teenage mind works in high school in good and bad ways. This book had many surprises in it. Some were like what a teenage boy will do so they can spend the night with their girlfriend and another surprise was how even adults have bad relationships with different people. This book also includes how affairs can lead to many problems. If students are to read this book they can learzn why it is wrong to have two girlfriends at a time or that they can find love no matter how the girl looks. I recommend that readers should read this book.
