Breathe My Name Breathe My Name by R.A. Nelson Tells the story of Frances, a girl who hasn’t been able to change her past. She lives with her loving adoptive family who treats her like she is still a child, and wants to protect her from the thoughts that have been in her mind lately. She has the best family, best friend, and the best boyfriend. But the thoughts of what she went through 11 years before haven’t been able to escape her mind. Eleven years ago Frances was known as Shine. She had three younger sisters and lived out in the country with her mother. It is clear from the flashbacks in the story that her birth mother had mental problems and is putting the four girls in harms way. Frances’ birth mother has been residing in a mental hospital since the courts sentenced her there after finding her guilty by reason of insanity for the deaths of her three daughters. Afton Jelks smothered her daughters one by one on a spring day when Frances was seven-years-old. The only reason Frances survived is because a man reading an electric meter heard the struggle and busted in the house and allowed Frances to escape. The memories are coming to the surface now that a lawyer contacts Frances to tell her that her mother has been released to a halfway house and would like to see her. Frances has mixed feelings but eventually, against the wishes of her parents, decides to make the journey to see her mother. With the help of her best friend and under the appearance of attending a weekend school trip, she and Nix hit the open road. They follow one clue to the next to find the exact location of where her birth mother is. Frances’ trip to find her crazy birth mother turns out to be a trap. Your heart will break as you watch Frances come to terms with the day her world changed forever.

I’ve really recommend this book to everyone. The book is The Color Purple by Alice Walker. Its about a poor uneducated fourteen-year-old African American girl named Celie. She starts writting letters to God. Her father beats and rapes her. Her father Alphonso impregnated Celie twice. Her father steals both of her kids and she dont know nothing about them. She only knows that the first one was a girl and the secod was a baby boy. Her mother became seriously ill and died. Then her father offers her to Mr.____ as a bride. She lived a difficult and joyless marriage with Mr.___.Mr.__ wanted his sister but his father offer Celie because he said that she was better for a wife. Her sister ran away before her father would beat and rape her too. She was living with the family that had Celies kids. At last her sister came back with both of her children.
-Angelica Maldonado A book that I recently read that I found to be really good was called Hero by Perry Moore. It is about a boy who is the son of an exiled super hero. I won't give away a big part of the story, but you should know that it is a page turner. I could not put the book down once I started it, I was sucked into this book so fast my head spun. It is a book for the people who like action, rebellion against your parents, superheros, mystery, comedy, murder, and a hint of romance. This book has a little bit of everything all in one book. There are some major twists as well, which I cannot give away otherwise I would ruin the book entirely. You are just going to have to read it for yourself, and see what I mean that this book is really good. So remember "Hero" by Perry Moore!
-Jazmin Moreno I’ve just finished reading my second book. The author of this book is R.L. Stine most famous for his Goosebumps stories. The name of the book I read is entitled, Beach House. This story takes place at a beach and it’s about a group of friends who just go out one summer to have a great time. However little do they know that this beach and a very particularly beach house near by has a killing history to it. The main character Maria ends up going out with two guys one being a clean cut Greaser guy and the other guy being very serious but yet quiet type of guy. However Stuart the clean cut buff guy decides to play a joke on Buddy the serious guy and the joke takes a turn for the worst…buddy soon has his revenge and answers then get revealed within the beach house. Later Buddy tries to play it off of course and so he tries to be nice to all kinds of people so that they wont suspect that he didn't do anything bad. Soon Buddy gets back at all the kids that made fun of him in a horrible way. He then drowned Maria, kills Stuart and makes the others simply pay for the embarrassing things that they did to him. Then so after Buddy lies to the cops and to others and he told them that he went away from the beach to visit a cousin and he also lied about staying at the beach house for the summer. Well furthermore this book will be sure to make you be in shock and will make you keep reading however I really recommend this book if your into R.L. Stine books or if you just want to read a good suppense/thriller book.
