Nightmares and Dreamscapes

Nightmares and Dreamscapes by Stephen King

Well if you are looking for a great horror fiction book this is for you. Nightmares and Dreamscapes is a collection of short stories where horror inhabits each tale. This is a great book because it involves ordinary people who get into unusual, frightening situations and will keep you hooked until the end. The book has 23 short stories that will send shivers down your spine and each unique in its own way. Each story has a different plot and new characters so you will never be bored. Another great factor about the book is its great variety. For example, the first story called Dolan’s Cadillac is about a man who plans revenge against the man that murdered his wife while another story called Suffer the Little Children is about a teacher who decides to murder all her students one by one. Then there are stories that are unbelievable like the story Popsy. This story is about a man who gets paid for taking young children and finds his next victim but doesn’t know that this is no ordinary child. After the man takes the kid he realizes that this boy has incredible strength and strange teeth and then something crazy happens at the end. Then there are stories like Chattery Teeth, which is about a man who purchases a pair of odd pair of walking "Chattery Teeth" and then gets attacked by a hitchhiker but finds out something frightening about the Chattery teeth. Its such a good book that many of the stories were adapted into movies and has gotten many great reviews by other readers. If you like Stephen King then this is the right book for you. Its weird, scary, and entertaining from front to cover. I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes horror fiction or just likes to read a variety of stories.

A Living Nightmare

The book A Living Nightmare by Darren Shan is one of the most creative and interesting book that talks about how to become a Vampire and it hooks you to read the rest of the books in the Cirque Du Freak series. I really enjoyed this book the most because you can imagine what Darren is going through and the decision to become a vampire assistant just to save his best friends life Steve Leonard. If I were to rate this book I would give it 10 out of 10 because the author Darren Shan describes everything and puts drama into the book like if it were to be based on a true story. This book was about a young boy named Darren Shan who ends up going to a freak show because his best friend Steve Leonard always wanted to go to one and luckily Darren ends up going because he won the ticket out of all his friends. They end up stealing a spider from one of the performers/freaks and the spider bites Steve and he ends up getting poisoned needing an antidote. Now Darren has to face becoming a vampire assistant which he is part vampire and not a full one or let his friend die because the freak was a real Vampire named Mr. Crepsley. You can say the book was touching after he fakes his own death and describes all the drama that he cannot live with his family and friends he loved to spend time the most and now he must now move on. Until he ends up making his best friend his own enemy and ends up leaving you wanting for more. This book can be described as a really interesting book with thrilling and gruesome scenes.

Twilight is the first book of the amazing series by Stephanie Meyer. This book is full of suspense and excitement. This book is about a girl name Bella and a vampire name Edward. At the beginning of the story both of them had come from a very different world, Bella had to stay at her father’s house for her mom to be able to travel with her boyfriend that played baseball so his job included traveling she felt as if she was just in the middle of their happiness. She moved to a place names forks where everything was horribly cold she liked the summer so it was really difficult for her. In school she then met Edward that was her lab partner they started to talk to each other but she would see things weird about him for example how he would never eat, go out in the sun, his eyes would change color, and the fact that he was always cold. She then came out with the conclusion that he was a vampire they then became boyfriend and girlfriend since he saw that to her that wasn’t a problem. They had a lot of obstacles but they over came them. This is a very good book and I really do recommend it keeps you wanting to read even more. It has a lot of excitement and adventures.

Dark Calling by Darren Shan
Dark Calling was book nine of a exhilarating series by Darren Shan. The author was able to keep stuck to the book trying to figure out what would happen next. I really enjoyed the suspense Darren created by keeping the identity of the big ball of light a secret until the got to the ark it was that was a great way of keeping the reader attached to the book, mystery. I also love the way the detail is implemented into the demons, scenery, action and the characters making me the reader be able to visualize every thing just making me want more. Over all I really give Darren props for ending the book the way it did it made me want to read book ten even more to find out what would happen with kernel was grubs turning evil so much suspense . Overall I find all of Darren’s books great. this one I have to say this was one of the best ones ive read so far.

If you enjoy reading about romance, vampires, and mystery I would recommend you to read the books of “Vampire Kisses.” This book contains a total of five books and each contains a different plot and theme that usually leads to the same characters and their conflicts. These books are about a girl named Raven and she starts dating a guy named Alexander and in the first book she wonders if he is a vampire. In the second book Alexander’s nemesis Jasper who wants to make him pay for not getting married to his sister; in the third book we are introduced to Jasper sister Luna that comes also to Dullsville to also try to get back at Alexander. In the fourth book, since Jasper and Luna weren’t so successful with getting there revenge so their younger brother Valentine tries to get revenge but tries to hurt Alexander through Raven and the way he tries hurting Raven is through her brother. In the fifth book, after Valentine also fails to hurt Alexander he was left really week and Alexander leaves Dullsville to reunite Valentine with his family and after Alexander does that the Maxwell family and Alexander families is at peace but another problem happens in Hipsterville. These books are really good i would really reccomend you to read them...

I just finished reading the book Switched its an R.L Stine book, I would really recommend for all of you people to read it, it’s a really awesome book and it would also show you on how sometimes your mind could play tricks on you, because this book is about two teenagers that think they have really bad lives so they think that by switching bodies their lives will be better but that’s not a good solution because it all ends that it was just the imagination of one of those girls, she was pretty much dramatize of the death of her best friend but she though she was with her everyday that’s why she had those terrible visions.

Going through difficulties because she has now made one of the most popular girls named Aphrodite one of her enemies. Going through the hard times of living in a new house and having to make new friend Zoey knows that she is special because of her mark.

The Blue Girl

The Blue Girl by De Lint, charles this book was great because since the begin It had foresight and that made me constantly expect thing to develop such as the one with the little fairies at the top of the book shelf when she saw them for the first time. This book actually made think about things that I never really even taught about such as magical beings being so cruel. I also liked that it had all three perspectives that made me the reader see the whole story and not wonder where they went after leaving a character.

Tempted

Tempted, by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast, is an amazing book! This book is about a girl Zoey Redbird, who is a vampyre. She’s stuck in some tunnels because there was just a war between her, Stark (who is her Warrior), Stevie Rae (her best friend), Erick (her boyfriend), Heath (her other boyfriend), many other people from the House of Night and Neferet, Kalona, and his Raven Mockers. This book alternates chapters from Zoey’s view to Stevie Rae’s. Zoey goes through so much. Most of it though is just guy problems. Before, in the first book, Marked, she didn’t know if she loved Heath or Erick. Then in the second book, Betrayed, she didn’t know if she loved Heath Erick, or Loren Blake (her English professor and Vampyre Poet Laureate). Then in the third book, Chosen, and fourth book Untamed, she doesn’t know if she loves Heath or Erick. In the fifth book, Hunted, she doesn’t know if she loves Heath, Erick, or Stark. Finally, in the sixth installment, Tempted, she doesn’t know if she loves Heath, Erick, Stark, or Kalona. Kalona is the bad guy so she doesn’t know if her feelings for him are true or if it’s just that he’s manipulating her, by using A-ya- the woman made by an old tribe to send him to the underground- to trick her into believing that it is her that loves him and not the part of her where A-ya is at. I know, Zoey seems to have been around but she hasn’t. I think she has reason to love all of them because they all have qualities, that if put together, would make the perfect man. Stevie Rae battles herself. She doesn’t know if she should reveal to Zoey more secrets she has kept from her; secrets that only distance them more. Stevie Rae also faces guy problems. She doesn’t know if she likes Dallas, or Rephaim. Rephaim is a Raven Mocker, the first of his kind, and Kalona’s favorite. Stevie Rae, out of kindness, spared his life and doesn’t know why she did. This book also alternates chapter between Rephaim, Stark, and Heath (sadly, not with Erick). As the story develops, a lot of surprising things happen. This is an omg-i-can’t-take-my-eyes-away-from-this-page-or-the-book type of book. I swear, you won’t want to put it down. If you haven’t read the House of Night series from beginning to end, in order, I suggest you do. Trust me, you won’t want to stop reading.
