One of the most interesting books I have read is Demon Apocalypse from The Demonata series by Darren Shan. It is one of my favorite books. It has a lot of action, suspense, comedy and will gross out anyone. The story is about a boy that found his parents being murdered by a demon master and his familiars. Grubbs, the main character, went to live with his uncle Dervish and his half-brother Bill-E. The master, Lord Loss, wants revenge on them for beating him at a game of chess to save Bill-E from becoming a werewolf. Their family is cursed with a gene that turns the Grady teenagers into savage werewolves. In the story Lord Loss opens a tunnel from the demonata universe to the human universe to destroy mankind. During the battle when all hope seems lost the Kah-Gash which unites and sends them back in time to stop the crossing. It has a lot of twists in the end. It’s messed up because Grubbs has to kill his little brother to save his soul. I don’t want to spoil the whole story so you have to read it to find out what happens.

One of the Demonoata series books, by Darren Shan, that I liked the most was Wolf Island, the eighth book. This book is packed with a lot of action from the first page to the last page, once you start reading this book you find yourself not able to stop reading it. And if you have read the pervious 7 books you will definitely like this one, because it is filled with many twists and turns that you would have not predicted. There are allies you would have never thought would have been made. This book is also very detailed, the author puts you in the main characters shoes, he makes you think what would you do. And my favorite part of the book is when, the biggest change happens, Grubbs lets go of his inner beast and takes control of the Wolf Pack. If you are looking for a book with werewolves, magic, demons, killing, action, and a good time then this book is for you.
-Jonathan Contreras Dead Connection by, Charlie Price, is a very interesting book. Just by the title it caught my attention. This book has suspense drama and romance. It’s in my top five favorite books I read. I really liked it because it has a suspenseful ending. It leaves u with a doubt. It was really interesting. I just couldn’t stop reading it. It’s about this boy named, Murray Kiefer. He really has a jacked up life. He’s not social but has this gift that he can talk to the dead. With that gift he reveals who had killed the head cheerleader in his school. It took him two months to find out. The book gives you a twist because it has one main character but it has four vantage points about the same topic. I mean to say that four people are telling you the story. Its not confusing in the contraire .it spices up the plot and the setting. Like it makes you imagine what may happen next with the character or make you think who killed the cheerleader and where is her body?
-Carlos Rodriguez I really want to recommend Suck It Up by Brian Meehl. This book is about a vampire kid, Morning McCobb, that isn’t really what one would expect about a vampire. He is awkward and very skinny and he doesn’t even drink blood. He drinks a blood substitute and he doesn’t like to be like everyone else. He goes to the International Vampire League, a.k.a. the IV League and when he graduates, the principal of the school asks him to be kind of like his lab rat. He wants him to come out to the world as a vampire. At first, he’s afraid but later he decides to do it anyway. He goes through bumps on the way to “coming out”. Sometimes he gets over them, other times he doesn’t. Also, there are two groups of vampires, blood suckers and culture suckers. The IV Leaguers are culture suckers meaning that they feed off of human culture and the other is pretty obvious. The blood suckers have “Commandments” that the IV Leaguers do not go by. Blood suckers want to remain hidden and when they find out that Morning is coming out to the world, they want to kill him. However, there is a pact that they made with each other not to war with either group. But still, there is a blood sucker that desperately wants to kill him but he gets stuck in a serious problem. He also meets a girl, Portia. She’s the daughter of the Public Relations Manager that the school principal got Morning to help him come out to the world. Portia and morning butt heads at first, but then they start to understand each other. Suck It Up is a funny, suspenseful, and just everything book. It’s fun to read it. You won’t want to put the book down. It’s a definite page-turner. This book is not your average vampire book, but you’ll have to read it to find out what really happens.
-Vanessa Parada As a teenager who doesn’t enjoy reading much I found The Demonata Series by: Darren Shan very interesting and intimidating. This awesome series contains 10 books, my favorite being Slawter. To describe this book with one word would be almost impossible. It is an Amazing, Funny, Disgusting (in a good way) and as J.K Rowling, author of the all time favorite Harry Potter Series, commented “ It will leave the reader hungry for more.’ This book is about a boy named “Grubbs”, whose parents were tragically murdered and tormented by a demon lord named, “Lord Loss” there family has been cursed with a very bizarre and tormenting curse, which causes the Grady family to turn into werewolves in there teenage years with no control of their “inner beast”. The only person who has the cure is Lord Loss, and him being a demon he has no reason or care for them, but he does have a “passion” for chess. The Grady’s found out and decided to use it against him and challenged Lord Loss with a bet, if they won Lord Loss would cure the cursed son/daughter if they lost there souls and body would be for Lord Loss to feed on and torture as he pleases, unfortunately for “Grubss” his family lost, leaving him alone with his uncle “Dervish” who has dedicated his life to the “Demon World”.
- Rembert Vigil Changeling is a book by Cate Tiernan. This is the 8th book in the series Sweep. The book is about a girl named Morgan Rowlands who is a blood witch descended from one of Wicca's seven great clans but has normal parents because she was adopted. She faces many challenges and problems in the last books. She is new to Wicca although uninitiated and practicing magic for only three months, she is very powerful. Morgan learns that her true father, a witch who killed her birth mother and has also tried to kill her, is planning to use black magic against the Starlocket coven . Eoife McNabb representative of the witches' council approaches Morgan to request that she makes a relationship with her father to learn more of his plot and possibly prevent it. Morgan's adoptive parents are Catholic and disapprove of her involvement so she must hide her powers from them, but their influence brings her back to the church for the "comfort and structure" it provides. The book is good but you will want to go back to the seven previous books to fill in the blanks.
-Isabel Villegas The book that i read for this blog was the ninth book of the demonata series by darren shan.In this book it carries on from the 8th book where Cornell Fleck went missing. In this book it went on by telling how cornell fleck is the host from one of the pieces of the Ga-sha and how the ga-sha came to splitting apart into three pieces.throughout the story i read that the reason cornell went missing was that he was really kidnapped by the old beings. They kidnapped cornell to show him where the begining of time began and also to alert him that they will not win against the demonata and that they want him to stay in a planet that he will protect from the demionata.By the end of the story they defeat the shadow and escape from lord loss but bec was left behind and that is how it ends.
-Arturo Castillo ELSEWHERE One of the many books that have captured a piece of my mind. Elsewhere by Gabrielle Zevin. Just reading the book captures an image that will stay with you- the afterlife. What happens when we die? Where do our souls go? Are we able to come back- from the death? Apparently for Elizabeth who was killed in a hit and run Can’t accept the fact that she is dead. I mean, she doesn’t feel like she’s dead, she sees everything as if its Normal, except when she learns the truth. Heading to elsewhere where she will spend the rest of her afterlife Liz can’t seem to get used to it. How is she supposed to live when she ages backwards? Not being able to turn sixteen and get her license, drive, go to parties, do what sixteen year olds do. Her life is just going back to where it started. There’s no point of trying to enjoy elsewhere because soon she’ll be gone and she’ll become a baby again. In the book Liz gets pretty close to her grandma, a person she couldn’t get to know because she passed away to cancer before she even was born. Being in elsewhere connects them both to a better understanding on life- the afterlife. Liz goes through so much, like trying to go back to earth, falling in love, to becoming a child again. So what does the afterlife will bring? Who knows! There’s not really someone who comes back from the death to guide us. We’ll just have to see and find out.
