Stuck in Neutral by Terry Trueman is a book of shown McDaniel’s life, most people see him as a dumb kid that has mental problems, even doctors can explain why he’s so stupid. But reality they don’t know that is only partially true. McDaniel lives in Seattle; he has an “ability” to remember everything at all started at the age of 4. And in every year the school district sends out a school physiologist to test for IEPs, somehow he fails every question. For 8 years Shawn is glued to wheelchair, not able to make a single muscle. He has a careless father and without being able to express his feeling, his life is in danger.

One of the most rewarding books I read and recommend is Caged Eagles by Eric Walters. This book takes place during World War 2 during 1942 and is about a Japanese family in Canada. The main characters are Tadashi, Yuri, and Sam. After Pearl Harbor happened the security was one of the key roles that played into these Japanese Canadians being into concentration camps. The story is mostly about a family being forced to leave their village and live in captivity. It’s a struggle for all Japanese that are forced to go their because they have to live in pig stalls and eat food that is not what they usually eat. Tadashi makes friend called Sam whose father is a wealthy business man. So Sam gets to buy anything he wants and finds a way to sneak out of the camp. They leave their prison and go explore only to be roughed up by white kids and forced to fight. They win and after the white kids come with back up that’s when they get corned by the prison camp and get beat up. Fortunately for them some of the Japanese people jump over and rescue them. It is a highly good book and makes you feel how the things work in a concentration camp. It has unity, family, friendship, and adventure. Overall I recommend this book for anyone that likes reading a fun and adventurous book.

This book is about a young girl who goes on a trip to visit her father and finds a guy who they would call buddy he yet falls in love with her as well as she falls in love with him. She gets into drug addiction because she tries to impress the guy she met. She always thought she had fallen in love with him since the first day they met . Her father was a drug addict as well ,so when she visited him she really didn’t have anyone who to look up to in that case. Later she finds out he is with some other girl who she tries to top off. As soon as that had happened she would do anything to get his attention but she just couldn’t get her off his mind. She goes back to her mother and later buddy calls her to tell her that it wouldn’t work out for the reason that their to far apart. I consider this book a great book because it has something of everything.
-Ilse Ponce The book that I read and it inspired me was Detour For Emmy by Marilyn Reynolds. What the book mostly is talking about, is how a young fifteen year old Emmy falls in love with a young men named Art. When time passes, there love grows even bigger, they also start planning things for college, he tells her “I love you, I’d never do anything to hurt you”, but once he says that Emmy finds out she’s pregnant Art doesn’t want to put up with it. Emmy is only fifteen years old, having problems at home, and her only best friend is her brother Dave, who got kicked out by his mom. As the months passed and Emmy had her daughter Rosie, she has struggled out on her own with out needing nobody’s help but her brother and mother she knew how to manage her own time, especially when it came to school work.
This book is very inspiring for me, because once I read this it showed me how a young girl can suffer a lot in a pregnancy but yet they learn how to deal with everything that comes up in life. They show that they are strong and they are not alone anymore, because now they have someone they need to look out for. -Daniela Pedroza The book that I read was But What About Me? by Marilyn Reynolds. This book tells the story of this young girl name Erica who eventually falls in love with this new guy in her work. They are both the same age and have many things in common. Their relationship seems perfect. But as soon as her boyfriend’s mom dies, everything changes. Danny, Erica’s boyfriend, starts drinking, messing up in school, just going in the wrong direction and Erica tries to fix his life. She loves him so much that she doesn’t care what she has to do but as long as Danny is safe. After a couple of days, things get worst and Erica doesn’t notices but she is messing up her life by fixing his boyfriends. She even goes through a serious accident that totally changed her life. Finally after “everything” happened she realizes that she needs to start from 0, that she needs to spend more time for her. And that’s what she ends up doing.
-Erick Guzman A book I just read was Rooftop by Paul Volponi. The book starts out with two boys, cousins that are in a rehab center. They are in this rehab center for doing drugs and for selling them. They start to change after a short times in the center. They start to understand what’s wrong and right, what they need to do to make it in life. . One night one of the boys sees someone that owes him money and chases him to a rooftop. On that rooftop in that night everything changes with a single gun shot. Now one of the boys is left alone, left to dell with what he must do. Tell the truth or keep it a lie even if it kills him. Rooftop is a great book with a powerful message in its words.
-Luis Sanchez The book is The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky this book is a really good book that gets people attention by its front cover and the describing of the book in the back .Well this book is about a young boy named Charlie that experience thing of his life that happened to him and his family. He experiences what is like to grow up in high school. It’s basically a dairy of his life they are unique, hilarious and devastating. He is caught trying to live his life and trying to run from it puts him on a strange course through uncharted territory. I recommend this book because is a book of a boy that barely started high school and getting from one point to the other if you like to read about sex, drugs this is the right book that you would like to read.
Susana Espinoza Annie's Baby is a story about a young teenager and how she falls in love with a boy ,goes out with him and he ends up rapping her . She wounds up getting pregnet but not just that, she cant find a way to take care of her child because the boy wants nothing to do with her or their baby. In the story it tells how she struggles in trying to be a mother, and how things changed. Its sad because shes really young barely 16 and she couldnt raise her child so she desides to give her up for adoption.Annie didnt want to do this but she also didnt want her child to live a horrible life, she wanted her child to live a better life.I think this story could reach out to alot of young teenagers to be very careful because life can change with just one desition. It showed me that its not easy to be a young mother. Its a very great book.
A Time for Dancing is a book that garbs your attention in every way. It’s a book that has to do with the real world. In my opinion this books could real teach you a lot in many ways. If you have someone you really love and has cancer you will relate to this book. I also liked it because once you start to read the book it takes you into another world were there is suspense and you don’t know what is going to happen. I recommend this book to people that like sad stories.
